Welcome to the Sacrament of First Holy Communion

Overview
The First Communion program is designed to form our First Communicants' understanding and participation in two very special sacraments: Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist. At Sts. Peter and Paul, the First Communion Program is structured as a transformative journey, designed not only to prepare students to receive the sacraments but also to live them profoundly and meaningfully, continuing Jesus' mission in the world.

General Timeline
Every year, information sessions are held in late September/early October, followed by registration nights in October. Once registered, First Communion Candidates and their families then attend a Commitment Mass, marking the beginning of their journey within the First Communion Program.

As part of the program, students and their families attend mass weekly at Sts. Peter and Paul, starting the day of their fall commitment mass. Starting in January until their May ceremony, the First Communicants also participate in 12 Saturday afternoon interactive classes, held from 3:15pm-4:45pm at the Meeting House and their parents/guardians participate in 3 parent meetings, at the same time as class.

 

Next steps for the 2025-2026 Academic School Year: (for students grade 2 or older)

  • Attend ONE Information Session: Tuesday, September 30th @ 7pm OR Saturday, October 11th @ 10:30am, in the main church. Note, a parent/guardian must attend. Child attendance is optional.

 

  • Take home the Overview package and consider the Enrolment promises. Decide if you would like to register at this time. If you are unable to commit to the weekly mass attendance and classes at this time, you can consider enrolling a following year.

 

  • To Register, attend ONE Registration Night. Registration dates and Commitment Mass dates to be shared at the Information sessions. To register, you will need:
    1. COPY of your child’s baptismal certificate
    2. Name and address of the church your child was baptized at
    3. Payment of $150 (cash or credit accepted)

If your child is NOT baptized and you are considering enrolling in the First Communion Program, please note that they must be baptized by January. Email the office to request baptism: office@peterandpaul.church

Welcome to the Sacrament of Confirmation

Overview
The Confirmation program is designed to prepare Confirmandi for a deep and personal encounter with Jesus Christ and the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit. It aims to guide them through an understanding of the core aspects of the Christian faith, equipping them to live out their Confirmation as true witnesses of the Gospel. By exploring the themes of discipleship, the role of the Holy Spirit, and the mission to share the Good News, this program helps Confirmandi embrace their identity as members of the Church and followers of Christ. By the end of the program, they will be ready to receive the sacrament of Confirmation and take on their responsibility as active participants in the Church’s mission.
